I purchased these in April 2008 and they have a “Must be used within 6 months of April 2008 for warranty to apply” date on them.
My local retailer has the same cartridges with “January 2009″ as the date.
I thought I was being proactive by buying extra cartridges and but I doubt I will use these in 6 months.
Next time I purchase a product with a limited shelf life I think I will stick with a local retailer so I know that I am getting a newer product.
Amazon – If you all are reading the reviews… For products with a limited shelf life figure out a way to let your customers know this ahead of time. Also consider discounting products that are nearing the end of their shelf lives. Otherwise you won’t be able to compete with local retailers.

As with all ink, way too costly for way too little ink. If not for the space in landfills I would rather buy a new printer for less then the cost to buy new ink.

Purchased this item directly from Amazon in mid March. Upon it’s arrival, the expiration date is april 08!! I also purchased other ink cartridges from third parties supported by Amazon. They all expire at least one year from purchase date. There is a way to rate your experience with third parties. I wish Amazon had a way to rate themselves and leave suggestions for their own company. (maybe there is and I am unaware)

I purchased these in December/2009. I received free shipping with delivery right to my door. No Christmas shopping crowds or long lines to deal with. The expiration date on my cartridges is: August/2011 by which I will surely use these two cartridges. I have had good success using HP ink with my HP printer so I was well pleased with this transaction.

Great price compared to every other store I’ve looked. Saved about $6-8 considering Amazon’s price with free shipping is cheaper than buying them at the store. That’s not even including sales tax so maybe $8-10. And buying two together is like buying bulk, its cheaper and you have another one ready to go when your ink cartridge decides to print half your page in grey.
